On the day

Running order

(see PALLUP Toolkit slide set and Facilitators film for suggested wording and tips to help the workshop run smoothly)

Setting up the room

Around the room

  • Room to move – The workshop comes alive when people have space to move and talk to each other – try and get a good-sized room with lots of wall space and floor space. Tip – If you are not allowed to stick things straight on the wall magnetic whiteboards and flip carts are good alternatives.
  • Setting up the film – Ensure you have the correct IT equipment to run the film, do a test run can everyone can see and hear it?

Each table

  • Mix up your groups and ensure each table has the resources for each exercise and pens (a few extras are good).

Each participant

  • Ask each person to write their name on a label – try not to include job titles on name tags, as it’s usually not necessary and can create a hierarchy in the room.
  • Have a register of who is there – where they work and how they want to be contacted – doing this at the beginning will save you time at the end.
